Natural Phenomenons 01, Aurora Borealis
Sometimes in the winter, when it gets really dark, It is possible to see this natural phenomenon. The one caught on film here, is unusually strong to be as far south as Oslo, but hey, it certainly looks good! The aurora is made up of radiation from the sun being caught up in the earths magnetic shielding. Here in the north it is called Aurora Borealis, while in the southern hemisphere it is Aurora Australis.

Living things 01: Birds
Wouldn't you just love to be able to fly? I know I've dreamt about it many times. Thats why I like birds so much... Maybe it's envy? Anyways, birds, as lucky as they are, also make great motifs. So here you go. (And yes, i know bats aren't birds but it was suitable to place them here)

The harsh reality of many of those small critters that just never give up harasing you. Give some, take some, ore maybe its the other way around. Anyways, this spiters days were counted once he aproached our ant befested porch. Size, does not always matter. And also, I added som other cool bugs :-)

Night session 03: Oslo, a fire in the sky
Sometimes it is like the sky is on fire. Living on the seventh floor allows me to observe this and gives me, either from the balcony or from my bedroom veranda, excelent shooting possibilities. Here are some of the results

The elements 01: Standing water
Water is an intriguing thing. Viscous and free flowing yet the molecules cling together to form strange formations. By shooting whith very high shutterspeeds (1/2000-4000s) you can freeze the flow hanging in the air. These following images where taken at around 1/4000 of a second, and as long as one gets the focus right, the results are amazing!

The elements 02: Rock and fossils
Mere crystalized memories from our early ancestors. From jucky little slimy bugs, to something worth digging for. It's a good thing fossilized things don't know the value of hard cash! Found these on an island out side of Oslo. Government property of course.

The elements 03: Water in winter
Water is a fascinating thing. And when there is little light, photographing water becomes a challenge, but sometimes with great results. The flowing motions of the water freezes as the exposure time extends. This creates a really mysterious effect around rocks.

Plants 01: Palms, ferns, banana and other
The variaty of different plants is incomprehendable. There ars so many beautifull plants, trees, bushes, flowers and leachen that I quess I'll have to devide my images of the various carefully not to ruin the experience. So here we go with palm plants, banana plants and other plants of those sorts.

Yes, they do look alot alike, but in such a confined environment there are few other things to photograph. Especially when you got a hot new lense going. We pretty much dominate the sky, as of yet anyways.

Downed Zero
The Second World War set its mark on many of the Pacific islands, as it did to Europe. I think it's quite astonishing that we still can see the remains of this sixty year old war.
